Review:

The Elf Princess by Rosemary Lynch is a Fantasy/Love story. Plucking Kaitlin Jacobs out of her simple life and into the high stakes world of Elves, Witches, Dragons, Trolls, and Goblins. And it’s up to her to save the world from total destruction. The only person she can trust is her childhood friend and true love Keltor.

Lynch has amazing world building skills, however her follow through falls a little short. Her need to put her hero in conflict after conflict after conflict creates drag in the novel. Unnecessary conflict is irritating not nail biting. The main reason holding the Keltor back from admitting his love for Kaitlin becomes a non issue at the end because he ‘says’ so.... Ummm what? Another small world building short fall. There were several editing issues noticed. I try not to point these out but there were so many it is something that needed to be mentioned.

Overall, The Elf Princess has a good overall premise and liked the book. As I mentioned Lynch has good world building skills. She also has an ability to write a fight scene that has you seeing it like it’s a movie scene playing out in your mind. And Keltor knows how to kick some serious butt.

But in the end I had more issues I disliked about The Elf Princess then I liked so unfortunately I am giving it 2 out of 5.
